Seit den 90er Jahren haben sich durch die Kontingentflüchtlinge die Mitgliederzahlen jüdischer Gemeinden teilweise mehr als verzehnfacht. Viele Zuwanderer aus der GUS brachten gesundheitliche und psychische Vorbelastungen mit. Die Sterberate in den Gemeinden übertrifft die Geburtenrate um ein Vielfaches.
Wie gehen die Gemeinden mit dieser Herausforderung um? In dieser qualitativen Studie konnte in Bayern zum ersten Mal wissenschaftlich untersucht werden, welche Bedürfnisse erkrankte Gemeindemitglieder haben, welche Angebote die Gemeinden zur Verfügung stellen, welche Problemfelder sich ergeben und wie mit diesen Problemen umgegangen wird.
Aus diesen Erkenntnissen ergeben sich klinische und pflegerische Konsequenzen, die für unsere alternde Gesellschaft insgesamt von Bedeutung sind.
